emacs-bmk-mgr is a bookmark (in the HTML browser sense) manager for emacs. I (JoseAntonioOrtegaRuiz) wrote it because I didn’t like WThreeM’s one, but it can be used with any browser (via browse-url-function customisation).
Although I’ve been using emacs-bmk-mgr on a daily basis during the last months, it probably has some rough edges: please, help me polish it by giving it a try and writing down your comments.
There is no documentation yet, but bmk-mgr is pretty easy to use. Just put the bmk-mgr directory in your load path and require ‘bmk-mgr. With M-x bmk-mgr-show-bookmarks the bookmarks buffer will pop up. Press ? there for help, and give also a look at the customisation group ‘bmk-mgr.
You’ll find also sample customisaton for your .emacs (and, in particular, integration with WThreeM) in the file dot-emacs.el.
If you have darcs installed, you can get the latest source code from my archive:
% darcs get http://hacks-galore.org/jao/darcs/bmk
Or get this tarball. The archive is also browsable online.
Both links are down.
Please, write your comments here. Your feedback is very welcome.
bmk-mgr.el (patch-1) doesn’t work for me, i’ll try to explain why :
When i do M-x bmk-mgr-show-bookmarks, i basically have the same result than doing a (switch-to-buffer nil), i edebug-ed the function, and it appears that bmk-mgr-create-bookmark-buffer sets the tree variable to nil, because ~/.emacs.bookmarks doesn’t exist, so bmk-mgr-read-from-file returns nil. What should i put in that file ?
Fixed in patch-2. Thanks for the report. – jao
