sww.el is a utility that allows to switch to a window by name. You can also send some keystrokes to the new selected window. You can find the emacs lisp source at: http://www.xsteve.at/prg/emacs/

From looking at the source code, I think you are speaking here of window-manager “windows”. In the context of Emacs, you should specify this, if that’s the case. Unfortunately, the word “windows” means at least three things in the context of Emacs:

  • Emacs windows – see WindowsDefined.
  • Window-manager windows. Those within Emacs are called “Frames”.
  • MS Windows

To put it short: You can switch to Window-manager windows on MS Windows from an editing session in an emacs window ;-)
